A six-part documentary series, “Kobe Disciples” follows two opposing teams of young, Chinese basketball players as they are mentored by NBA All-Star Kobe Bryant to compete in a championship game.
The series culminated with a final game between the two teams in a packed arena. With ten court-side cameras, three roving documentary teams and 36 channels of discrete audio, the edit proved to be a technical and creative challenge. Much of the second half of the game was reworked and reordered to compress the action on the court while drawing out the tension between the coaches on the sidelines.
